Petaluma sets a great example; business and government working together
In last week's San Francisco Chronicle, there was a great story about how the City of Petaluma, California and a local contractor came to an agreement on a way to preserve an historical building, in this case an old school building, by turning it into condominiums. The project required a lot of expensive retrofitting so the City allowed the contractor to build 3 Craftsman-style homes on the large property behind the school to offset the extra expense. We think it is an excellent example of the city and local business working together to solve common problems. Read this inspirational story here.
